Holiday Weekend

I hope everyone had a great 4th and all fingers and toes are accounted for. I spent the weekend mostly with family, but I had time to wrap up 3 new smaller canvases I'd been working on for a few days. I'll post photos in the next few days. Take care!  -JH

New Abstract Painting

Here's a piece I finished tonight. I wanted to keep it loose and flowing to try and capture what I was feeling. The name of this canvas is "Still Waters Run Deep". Hope you enjoy. -JH

New work on the way

I'm working on a new large painting of Apple trees in an orchard. I'm experimenting with some new approaches, so I'm excited to see the results. I'll post an image when it's done. Hope you all have a terrific weekend!

Website updates

I've been updating my website over the past few months and will soon be launching a new giclee print section of I'll be offering giclee prints on fine art paper and canvas including gallery wrap canvas options and framed canvas prints. I focus primarily on original art sales, but wanted to offer the highest quality, giclee print options for those who can't purchase an original painting. I hope you like the new site! I will let you know when it's launched and online! Take care....   -J

New Day, New Canvas

I began a new painting today of an Apple tree orchard and wildflowers under a sunny blue sky. It's a large canvas and I'm excited to see what I can make happen with this composition. I completed the Bluebell Wildflower piece and it is being imaged for archiving, so I'll post a photo of it when I get it back from the scanners. Hope you all are doing well!

Catching up

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well. I've been out of pocket the past few weeks, but am getting back in gear. I've finished a large wildflower painting for a gallery in Arizona and have started on a new piece for the gallery in Santa Fe, NM. The warmer the days get, the more I wish I was in the high desert of New Mexico hiking and scoping new landscapes to paint. Take care, and talk soon... -JH

Rainy Weekend In...

Another rainy weekend so I'll be staying in and getting lots of easel time. I finished the large canvas last week and thought I'd post an image of it here. It's titled "Desert Day II". I think it turned out nicely. Let me know what you think.

New Week...

I'm finishing the commission piece and will wrap it up tomorrow. Didn't get as much painting time over the weekend as I had originally thought. Spent some time with family and friends this weekend and time ran short. I'm looking forward to seeing what the reaction is to the new piece. Hope you all have a great week!

Weekend Ahead

It's Friday night and I'm wrapping up a large canvas for Lanning Gallery in Sedona, Arizona. It's of a landscape outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico. I took the photos one autumn while I was living in S.Fe. It's rainy tonight here in AR and supposed to rain most of the weekend, so I should be seeing a lot of easel time in the next few days.

Back from the desert...

Hello everyone. I hope you are all doing well. I've decided to jump back into the world of blogging. Thanks for stopping by. It's been a good year so far in the galleries and things seem to be picking up speed. I returned last week from my show in Sedona, Arizona at Lanning Gallery. The show was successful and I was able to sell several paintings, which in this economy is a real gift! Thanks to all of you who purchased and who continue to support the arts in all aspects.
